Name: Hyuuga Neji
Age: 16 (But since he's a freshmen, he should be younger, right?)
Appearance:
High School Year: Freshman
Personality:
Neji would definitely be the calm, cool, and collected type. He never lets his emotions get ahead of him and he seems to always bear an indifferent face, unless he smirks. His quiet nature gives him sort of mysterious side. Neji is also very talented, considered to be a prodigy, yet he doesn’t let it go to his head. He’s a pretty nice guy once you get through the quiet exterior, and is a very reliable friend. What makes this Hyuuga a prodigy is his intellect. Coming from a wealthy family, this was sort of to be expected, but Neji stands out. He’s gifted in classes, sports, and is somewhat of a popular guy. He acts like an overprotective older brother to his cousin, Hinata, since he has no siblings and Hinata’s close to him. Neji is not very competitive at sports, but enjoys playing them. Especially basketball and soccer.
Sample RP:
Dry and windy. That's what's to be expected in Sunagakure, it being a desert and all. The winds weren't as high today, and though that caused some relief, the blazing sun had made up for the wind's absence. But the weather rarely bothered any of the citizens of the Wind Country, as they were accustomed to its desert terrain and lifestyle. Most of the population was clustered around the scattered oases, where an immediate resource was located. But they also had Konohagakure to trade with, and that's where they received most of their supplies.
The village's Kazekage, Gaara, was only 15, but the love he had found for the village and his overwhelming strength was more than enough for them. Besides, he was the Fourth Kazekage's son, and most likely held the same leadership skills as his deceased father. Gaara had come along way in the past two and a half years. For his life up until he was 12 and half, Gaara was feared, hated, and lonely. He also had the Shukaku back then, a monstrous one-tailed beast that occasionally possessed Gaara and altered his personality. He was also a killer back then, to protect himself from the people that were sent out to kill him.
But now, Gaara sat on the edge of one of the many roof's in Sunakagure. His spiky red hair didn't rustle as much as it usually did, but that was just fine with Gaara. The young Kazekage sat there, his green eyes scanning his precious village. He'd do anything to protect this village, and he'd already proved that when the Akatsuki kidnapped him and extracted Shukaku. Though it was hot out, Gaara very much enjoyed looking out onto the village. He could see the busy mothers, children playing, and shinobi enjoying a day off with their family or loved ones. A soft smile crossed Gaara's lips when he witnessed a shinobi whom he'd recognized as a Jounin, receive numerous hugs from his families. Gaara had sent him on an undercover mission to gather intelligence about a band of theived that attacked traders on the streets. Gaara watched them a bit longer before he heard a soft tapping behind him.
"Temari." Gaara greeted before turning around to face his sister. It was her, looking a bit more tired than usual. Her familiar fan hung from her back, and her clothes were a bit cleaner. Not that they were dirty, but they just seemed different to Gaara. Temari smirked and her weary blue eyes glowed a bit.
"Hey Gaara. I thought I'd find you here." Gaara wasn't surprised that Temari knew he was out here overlooking the village. She was his sister, after all, even if it didn't look like it. In fact, Gaara shared no physical trait with either Temari or Kankuro. Neither of the siblings shared any physical traits that were common, like eye or hair color. Temari glanced over at the village before returning her gaze to Gaara. "Baki wants to see you. He wants to discuss something about the economy. Tch, sounds boring." Temari rolled her eyes and rested her hands on her hips.
"Alright." Gaara replied, sending a long glance to the village. It was a wonderful village, and Gaara had to preserve it, no matter what. Even at the cost of his life. The people in the village were his friends and family, and as Naruto told him, you had to defend the people you love with your life. That's exactly what Gaara intended to do.
The young red head rose to his feet and turned around to look at his sister, who had crossed her arms. She was smirking, as if she felt bad for her brother. To her, meetings about economy should put people to sleep. But for Gaara, it was just another way to help Suna. "Let's go." He told Temari in his monotonic voice. Gaara had changed in many ways, but he still seemed to hold on to a few things. As both Gaara and Temari retreated into the building, the wind picked up and blew sand across the village. But the sand would never bury it, as Suna would always stand strong. At least, as long as Gaara was Kazekage.
History:
When Neji was born, his mother passed away when he was young. He never got to know her, but was content with being raised by his father, Hyuuga Hizashi. Neji enjoyed his life, even though his side of the family were viewed as less than Hiashi’s, Neji’s father’s twin brother. When it was Hinata’s third birthday, Neji was told that he had to protect her, because her father was such a famous businessman. Neji agreed, finding no fault with looking after his younger cousin. On that same night, a man of Hiashi’s business rival swooped in the middle of the night and tried to abduct Hinata. However, he didn’t even leave the grounds, as Hiashi killed him on sight. Hiashi’s business rival was outraged at the death of one of his men and demanded that whoever killed his employee should also make a sacrifice, or he‘d crush the company. Hiashi’s business was going through a struggle, and any strain at all would cause it to collapse and diminish. The company was very important to not only the family, but the whole city as well. Hiashi knew his business rival like the back of his hand, and knew he wasn’t joking about this. So, he willingly agreed to the deal, and knew he had to die. However, Neji’s father, Hizashi, volunteered to go instead. He explained that he felt obliged to do so, and told his brother it was for the family, for Hiashi was too precious to the business to be sacrificed. Reluctantly and with heavy hearts, the rest of the family agreed and Hizashi was sent off to his death.
Neji was then raised by his uncle, whose wife died after the birth of their second child, Hanabi. As Neji grew up, he believed that his father was forced to sacrifice himself, and had no choice in the matter. Because of this, Neji began to resent his uncle’s side of the family, including his cousins. The companies’ business began booming around the time Neji started 5th grade, and the family soon became very wealthy. What they didn’t realize, though, was Neji. This young boy excelled at everything at school, and was considered a ‘prodigy’ by his teachers. No one took notice of this, however, as they were building up on Hanabi. They had already given up on Hinata as a lost cause, for she was struggling. Neji envied her, because he felt that at least her abilities were noticed, and at least she could show them off, unlike him. No matter how hard Neji tried, he couldn’t get the attention of Hiashi or anyone else. But he knew that was because he was from the lesser side of the family, and not much was expected from him.
Neji soon began High School and hasn’t changed much since then. However, he has begun to get closer to his cousin Hinata and they consider each other siblings now. Neji still doesn’t know the truth of his father’s fate, but doesn’t resent Hiashi as strongly as he did before. Currently, Neji is shining in all subjects, and is getting through school with flying colors.
Participation: 8/10
Other: I was sort of stuck on the personality. If it’s bad, I’ll try to re-do it. <(-_-)> And the RP sample was obviously from another site, so I hope that's okay
